Anthony is a third-year student at Princeton University and is from Swedesboro, New Jersey. He is pursuing a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Global Health & Health Policy. He serves as an Editor on the Princeton Medical Review. On campus, he mentors first-year students in the Princeton University Mentoring Program (PUMP), tutors General Chemistry I & II at the McGraw Center for Teaching & Learning, and serves on the Events Committee of the Princeton University Biological Sciences Society (PUBSS). Prior to his time at Princeton, Anthony performed translational research in the Schiewer Lab at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center – Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, PA. His work focused on elucidating the molecular basis of PARP inhibitors in the treatment of advanced prostate and bladder cancers. More recently, he completed a National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates Internship at the Wistar Institute in Philadelphia, PA. Under the guidance of Dr. Maureen Murphy, he investigated the p53 tumor suppressor, a commonly mutated protein in human cancer, and its genetic variants in various ethnic populations. His work focused on using microtubule-targeting agents to develop personalized therapies for patients harboring p53 variants. In his spare time, Anthony enjoys photography and biking. As a staff writer on The Princeton Medical Review for three semesters, Anthony’s goal has been to communicate complex scientific and medical topics to the broader public, increasing awareness and contributing to personal and community growth. As an editor, he hopes to continue this goal by working to publish high-quality scholarship.
