Sam is a second-year student from Boston, Massachusetts. When she’s not in French class, Orgo lab, or studying, you can find her playing bass for Princeton University Rock Ensemble, goaltending for the club ice hockey team, and volunteering for the Red Cross. She is also a tour guide for Orange Key and a copy editor for The Nassau Weekly.
Over the summer, Sam helped conduct research at the University of Pennsylvania on liver patients whose transplants were necessitated by alcohol use disorder. In both meeting patients and studying data, her enthusiasm for research only grew.
Sam has always loved to write. Her passions for writing and medicine intersect perfectly at PMR. Due to her experiences as a lifelong patient in both the US and the UK, promoting an accessible, understandable approach to human health and wellbeing is one of Sam’s priorities. She strives to contribute to ways that can make medical research as available to the general public as possible. As a member of the PMR executive board, she hopes to continue to make medicine and medical research accessible to all those who are interested.
